The origins of Gingerbread? – In 2014 two young, happy-go-lucky individuals ventured to one of the biggest and most renowned electronic dance music festival in the world – Tomorrowland. That’s us, Ginger and Bread, our real names, Hannah and Brad. Living opposite ends of the UK, neither of us knew each other, or were even aware of each others existence. Luckily, that was all about to change and three years later we could have never imaged what would slowly turn into the most awesome/ happiest relationship we could have asked for (*cue aww*).
A few years went by, we attended the same events but not together, we adventured to different festivals, crossed paths now, all whilst sending cheeky messages to each other every so often. Our mutual friends rallied together with the plan to hit up Balaton Sound Festival in Budapest, and that was it. Ginger met Bread, Bread met Ginger and we’ve spent almost every day together since.
Fast forward to the beginning of this summer (2017). We finally sat down together and began reminiscing about every event we’d ever attended, but not just that, we began thinking how awesome it was to have met so many different people from around the world. Whether it be a large or an intimate event, we always came away with a new friendship, and we owe it to Tomorrowland itself for bringing us together.
After a few hours of rummaging through photos, reliving sets through videos we’d recorded and discussing our own experiences, we noticed something. There was not one single site/blog/page that had the sole aim of providing our personal experiences, reviews, hints/tips, travel info, label reviews, producer interviews, fashion inspo etc…
As such GINGERBREADGROOVE was born.
(Everyone calls me Bread ) I fell in love with dance music back in 2012 and I’ve been partying it up ever since.
Big names like Swedish House Mafia, deadmau5, Prydz, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and Hardwell brought me in to the Electronic Music scene and I’ve never looked back since.
I’ve spent years finding ultimate happiness and bringing super high energy to festivals such as Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, AMF, Creamfields, Balaton Sound, ASOT, EDC and many more. I want to share mine and Ginger’s experiences with all you festival-goers and provide any info, festival reviews and tips when we can. Dancedancedance!
AKA Banana , Ginger (still no suitable ginge emoji ) or Hannahbelle . Aside from my overly obsessive collecting of unicorns, I love to party. Oh and I’m nearly a fully qualified Biomedical Scientist.
My love for electronic music actually started in 2012/13 when I lived in America , a friend introduced me to a ‘random’ duo called DadaLife.. . I inherently took a liking to their style not knowing where it would lead me.
That’s were my electronic music love began oddly and since then I began listening to everything and anything, until the past year when I finally found my calling – TECH/ GROOVE/ LATIN/ TRIBAL HOUSE!!
Needless to say that journey consisted of many other fancies from pure techno to trance, and from tropical house to dance hall/ reggaeton. This endeavour was also influenced through exploring a huge amount of crazy gigs and magical festivals, such as Tomorrowland, DLDK, Creamfields, Balaton Sound, Steel Yard, Super You & Me and nights at Victoria Warehouse Manchester.
It’s been a ride but through it I found my love for the beat, for music, I met an endless number of friends with a mutual liking for music and happiness and most of all I met my bread, the loaf of my life!
